29 October, 2022, 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
£50With Vendulka Battais.
REQUIREMENTS:
For 12” square cushion: 14” x 4 1⁄2” strips – 6 times
For 12” x 24” cushion : 14” x 4 1⁄2” strips – 12 times
For book cover (A5 book): 10 1⁄2” x 3 1⁄2” – 14 times
Decide which project you’d like to do – small cushion, long cushion or book cover.
You don’t have to cut your fabric to the given size, as we will have time to do it on the day. The size and amount of strips is just a guide. You can have each strip from a different fabric (going from one colour into another for example), or you can alternate 3-4 different fabrics. Remnants or fat quarters are fine, combination of patterned and plain-ish fabrics is fine. The remnants just need to be big enough
to cut the strips from.
Piece of fine or medium weight iron on interfacing ( 13” square for small cushion, 13”x25” for the long cushion or 10” x 20” for the book cover)
For machine embroidery bring a selection of contrasting and matching threads – plain, variegated, shiny – whatever you find at home.
For hand embroidery bring selection of contrasting and matching hand embroidery threads – perle cotton, stranded cotton, ribbons, yarns etc in plain and variegated colours.
Chenille hand embroidery needles
Embroidery hoop – optional
